Thac0 with Advantage 81. The Best Way to Level Up in D&D: XP, Milestones, or Something Else?

Welcome to THAC0 . . . with Advantage! We’re two friends that have been playing D&D a long time. While we both love lots of other RPGs, D&D grants us XP for doing the show.

When should your players level up their characters? Beyond gold and magic items, advancing a character can be the greatest reward in fantasy gaming. Traditionally that meant tracking and awarding XP, but increasingly, RPGs, including D&D, are embracing the concept of tracking advancement in other ways. Is there still a place for XP, and why might it still be a good system for your table? We’ll explore that in today’s episode.

Skritches Two. A Fuzzy Situation

Dom, Sheldon, and Colt are on the case of Deora Trots murder but things are complicated with their personal connections to Deora and Dom’s connection to the Horns Killer. Tune in this week to find out what happens next on Skritches. An athroanimal story of Crime, Comedy, and Drama

Skritches One. A Dearest Murder

Horns are used for defense against predators in the Animal Kingdom. But they’re also used to fight members of ones own species and even in mating rituals. But Hayburn city has no need for using Horns in defense of ones self, The Athroanimals are a more civilized brand of animal, they dress in clothes over their fur and scales, they drive vehicles rather than run on all fours, those who hunted for food in the past and ate other animals only eat fish and shell fish. This is modern animal kingdom, and to give into ones nature ones animalistic side is looked down upon. So why did we start with horn’s, because Deora Trots, the CEO of Dearest Baked Goods has been found dead in her penthouse, strangled with a piano wire, her heart removed and found partially eaten as if by a bird, and two goat horns, driven into her eye sockets. To add theft to murder, the Malachite human was stolen from Deora’s safe. The priceless sculpture is one of the last depictions of the long extinct race known as humans in the world. This is Skritches, a story a crime, comedy, and drama.
